Tourism

Being an operation run by a married couple with kids we understand the desire to travel to New Zealand with your family so that you can all experience the grand adventure. We also understand that not everyone in the family wants to go hunting or fishing. We offer Touring Options that suit every age, ability and desire for an extra fee that includes transportation, lunch and beverages.

Take a day trip to Oamaru to visit the Steampunk Museum, shop in the old French fishing port shops, and eat lunch on the pier. End your journey at the Moeraki Boulders and catch a vivid sunset and ocean pictures.

Enjoy a day at Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo where there’s an unlimited amount of postcard worthy photos to take, shopping to do and places to eat. Treat yourself to the hot pools at Lake Tekapo or check out one of the Star Gazing Observatories.

Are hiking and waterfalls your thing? Enjoy a guided hike on any one of Mount Peel’s 8 hiking trails that lead to 4 different waterfalls. Visit “The Big Tree” which is always a favorite. Then have a frosty beer and a meat pie or some fish and chips in Geraldine. Walk off your dessert by visiting the multitude of shops lining the main street.

Our little town of Fairlie offers a variety of sites to see and things to do. The Heritage Museum has several hours’ worth of artifacts to browse through and has a Museum Café attached with the worlds best dandelion latte and delectable eats. Every Tuesday evening we meet at the rugby grounds to watch the local rugby club play. You’ll never know when a festival or auto tour will be passing thru town providing lots of people watching and an abundant amount of classic and vintage cars to photograph. Fairlie is a beautiful mountain valley community full of friendly people who love to chat up the visitors of town and has a slower pace, like stepping back in time. It’s the perfect place for us to call home.
